User Information Settings

You can set the default settings for the department ID management/user authentication and user name for viewing job logs.
NOTE
Depending on the printer model you are using, this function may not be supported or the functions you can use may vary.

Open [System Preferences] → click [Print & Fax], [Print & Scan], or [Printers & Scanners].

Select the device you are using → click [Options & Supplies].
3.
Click [Utility] → [Open Printer Utility] to open the Canon FAX Utility.

Click [Printer Details] → set any required items.
To set the default settings for the department ID management:
Select [Use Department ID Management] in the [Department ID Management] tab or [Department ID Management] from [User Management] in the [Authentication Function] tab → set the detailed settings.
[Department ID]: Enter a department ID set in the device, of no more than 8 characters.
[PIN]: Enter a PIN set in the device, of no more than 7 characters. If a PIN has not been set, leave this blank.
[Verify]: Verifies whether the entered [Department ID] and [PIN] match those set at the device.
To set the user name for viewing job logs:
Click the [User Information] tab → specify the login name used with the computer, account name or desired name for the user name under [Name to Set for User Name].
When setting user authentication:
Click the [Authentication Function] tab → select [User Authentication] from [User Management].
[User Name]: Displays the user name set in the [User Information] tab.
[Password]: Sets a password of up to 32 bytes worth of characters.
[Verify]: Verifies whether the entered [User Name] and [Password] match those set at the device.

Click [Save Settings].
