Editing Address Books

Depending on the printer model you are using, this function is not available. In this case, display and edit the macOS Address Book (Contacts).

Displaying an Address Book

Open [System Preferences] → click [Print & Fax], [Print & Scan], or [Printers & Scanners].
Select your device → click [Options & Supplies].
Click [Utility] → [Open Printer Utility] to open the Canon FAX Utility.
Click [Address Book].

Adding/Editing Address Information (Cards)

In the [Address Book] window, click [Add Card].
If you are editing an existing address, select the name → click [Edit Card].
Enter/Edit the settings as required.
You must specify a name (any one of [First], [Last], [Nickname], or [Company]) and fax number (any one of [Home Fax], [Work Fax], or [IP Fax]).
Click [OK].

Importing an Address Book

CSV files (*.csv), extended LDIF files (*.abk), and DCM files (*.dcm) can be imported. Only commas (,) are supported as separators in CSV format.
When reading a group information file (*.gsv), give it the same name as the CSV file (*.csv) and place it beforehand in the same folder as the CSV file.
If you import an address book to a device with the Canon FAX Utility, select the same device and use the exported address book.
You may not be able to import correctly with an address book exported with a different device selected.
From the [File] menu in the Canon FAX Utility, select [Address Book] → [Import] → [File] or [Address Book of Fax Driver v3.70 or Earlier].
When selecting [File]: In the [Open Address Book] dialog box, perform the step 2.
When selecting [Address Book of Fax Driver v3.70 or Earlier]: After clicking [OK] in the displayed message, the address book will be imported.
Select the file to import → select either [Use primary number as home fax number] or [Use primary number as work fax number] → click [Open].
When importing as a group: Select [Import the selected file as a group] → enter a name in [Group Name].
In version 3.70 and earlier drivers, "Primary Number" indicates "Work Fax Number."

Exporting an Address Book

From the [File] menu in the Canon FAX Utility, select [Address Book] → [Export].
The [Save Address Book] dialog box is displayed.
Specify [Save As], [Where], and [Format] → click [Save].
Address books can be saved as CSV files (*.csv) and extended LDIF files (*.abk). Only commas (,) are supported as separators in CSV format.
If there is group information, it is saved as a group information file (*.gsv) with the same name as a CSV or extended LDIF file.
Saved files can be imported by macOS and Windows version fax drivers and devices.
If you are saving an address book as an extended LDIF file, destinations that have both a home fax number and work fax number registered are saved as 2 separate destinations.
Address books exported from the version 4.3.0 driver cannot be read by version 4.2.0 or earlier drivers.
