Checking the IP Address

Use the following procedure to make sure that the IP address is set properly.
1.
Display Terminal.
Select the hard disk you use → [Applications] → the [Utilities] folder, and then double-click the [Terminal] icon.

Enter "ping -c 4 <the IP address of the printer>", then press the [return] key on your keyboard.
Input Example: ping -c 4 192.168.0.215

If the IP address is set properly, the following result is displayed. (This indicates that four packets were sent and four packets were successfully received.)
4 packets transmitted, 4 packets received, 0% packet loss
4.
Contact your network administrator if the following result is displayed.
4 packets transmitted, 0 packets received, 100% packet loss
5.
Enter "exit", then press the [return] key on your keyboard.
6.
Select [Quit Terminal] from the [Terminal] menu.
